Is this course right for me?

BTEC Law is perfect if you’re curious about how laws shape everyday life and want to explore topics like crime, family issues, and how disputes are solved in the legal system. You’ll need to feel confident reading and understanding information, as you’ll study real cases and legal statutes. Strong communication skills will help you explain ideas clearly in assignments and exams, and being organised with your time will make it easier to stay on top of deadlines and revision.

Why study this with us?

At Sixth Form College, studying BTEC Law goes beyond the classroom. You’ll learn from guest speakers including solicitors, magistrates, and barristers, and you’ll visit local courts to see how cases work in real life. There’s even the chance to travel to London to visit the Old Bailey and the Supreme Court.

You can also take part in exciting enrichment activities such as:

  • Bar Mock Trial – act as a barrister, witness, or juror in a real courtroom (our students recently reached the National Final at the Old Bailey).
  • Solve the Crime Club – investigate clues, analyse evidence, and solve cases as part of a team.

These experiences help you develop teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills while giving you a taste of real legal careers.

Beyond.

Where can this course take me?

This qualification also prepares you for careers such as:
